"Fare Spazio," the new volume edited by Fabio Fornasari and published by Nomos Edizioni, is now available. It focuses on the relationship between architecture, inclusion, and design. I contributed to the volume with the essay "Design Ability. When Heritage Becomes Inclusive: Projects Between Conservation, Public Space, and Museums," which brings together some of our design experiences developed over the past twenty years in the fields of historical heritage, museums, and public space. Design Ability stems from a simple belief: accessibility is not a specialized topic nor a requirement to be verified at the end of a project, but a design criterion capable of improving the quality of space for all. When addressed from the earliest stages of the design process, it becomes a tool that connects heritage conservation, contemporary use, and inclusion. The volume also features an original foldout dust jacket that opens to a large conceptual map, designed by Giulia De Amicis, effectively summarizing the themes addressed in the various contributions.
